I’ve had a couple requests for the Ashland Pilots regular season schedule, so here it is – for the month of July at least. The Pilots take on South Medford, St. Mary’s and North Medford this week. Head coach Josh Leedy said that by this time next week, everybody will know which teams are the [...]

The MSBA essentially replaced Babe Ruth in southern [...]

The double-elimination tourney will be played in Medford this year, July 3-9 at the Medford American Little League fields behind Dairy Queen. Ashland opens against Ore-Cal. It hasn’t happened yet, but all indications are it is going to: SOU will make a run at leaving the NAIA for NCAA Division II. The application must be in by June 1. After that, there’s a two-year probation period, after which the Raiders will, if all goes well, finally have a home again for [...]

High praise for Gaviglio

A coach who’s won two national championships says Ashland’s own Sam Gaviglio was one of the best freshmen pitchers in the country. Here’s the story. Naked Ultimate Frisbee

Sticking with the Tidings’ all naked, all the time theme, it’s about time I expose this University of Oregon Frisbee fiasco. It seems that the school’s ultimate Frisbee men’s squad believes that combining flying plastic disks with flipity-flopity man parts is a perfectly sane idea. Fertility be damned, the Ducks played a “naked point” against Oregon [...]
