Grizz girls lose tough one

Ashland blew a 19-2 lead Friday night in a 59-58 overtime loss to Silverton.

There was some good news, however. 1. It was a nonconference game, which means it’s not worth getting worked up over, and … 2. It’s the second to last time the Grizzlies will play at Ashland Middle School (Ashland hosts West Albany on Saturday). Next Friday, they’ll play their first game at the newly renovated Mountain Avenue Gym.

The AMS gym filled in nicely, but let’s face it, it was a big step down. It will be interesting to see if the excitement surrounding the new gym will give the Grizzlies a little extra home court advantage boost, at least initially.
