Grizz girls ranked No. 10

The Ashland High girls basketball team is ranked No. 10 in the latest coaches poll, released earlier today. The ranking is the last of the year.

The Grizzlies (5-4) probably helped their chances of being ranked in the top 10 last weekend, when they beat first Summit and later North Medford to snag their fifth straight Ashland Rotary Hoops Classic title. Thurston is No. 1 and Jefferson is No. 2.

Ashland may play another top 10 team at next week’s South Coast Les Schwab Tournament. Eight teams will be there, but Ashland and co-No. 3 Willamette will be the only ranked teams on hand.

Here’s the complete Class 5A top 10:

1. Thurston 47(4)

2. Jefferson 45(1)

T3. Wilsonville 33

T3. Willamette 33

5. Dallas 32

6. Crater 21

7. W.Albany 20

8. N. Eugene 13

9. Lebanon 12

10. Ashland 7

Others: Glencoe 6, Summit 2, Corvallis 1, Hermiston 1, Sherwood 1
