Kitzhaber ahead

With more than a half million votes counted in the governor’s race, Democrat John Kitzhaber is leading Republican Chris Dudley 53 percent to 44 percent, according to state elections reports.

Wyden off to a fast start

Oregon Elections Division says with 19 percent of the vote counted, Sen. Ron Wyden is leading his challenger, Jim Huffman by 55 percent to 42 percent.

From the Associated Press: Preliminary results from a telephone poll of Oregon voters show that men favored the Republican candidate for governor, Chris Dudley, while women tended to support his Democrat rival, John Kitzhaber. The county election website appears to be down, so a lot of frustrated candidates and supporters are constantly refreshing their computers and smartphones, to no avail.

Congressional swing

MSNBC, Fox predict GOP will take the House. Democrats have won a few key Senate seats and look at this point to be holding on to their majority. No big surprise in either of those results.
