Northwest Community Credit Union now offering members 100 percent home mortgage loans

Northwest Community Credit Union is stepping up its home lending.
The Springfield-based credit union with two offices in Medford and one in Grants Pass, is now offering loans cover 100 percent of the purchase price of the property.
John Iglesias, president and CEO of Northwest Community said the approach — common before, but rare since the real estate bubble — helps buyers with good credit ratings, but lacking significant down payment. The loans are funded and administered by NWCU and not resold into the secondary market.

New figures released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate the western states continued to have the highest regional unemployment rate in February, 7.2 percent, while the South had the lowest rate, 6.1 percent. The South had the only statistically significant over-the-month unemployment rate change, minus 0.1 percent.
