THREE-WORD THURSDAY: Virtual. Stain. Tweet.

Today’s Three-Word Thursday has its roots sunk deeply into social media, the phenomenon that quickly is outdistancing obesity and the Super Bowl as the greatest threat to America’s job productivity.

How can these people get anything done at work when they’re Facebooking all day. Between Mafia Wars, that funky aquarium game and posting pictures of their lunch, they leave virtually no time left to actually produce something, ANYTHING, of value.

Virtual. Stain. Tweet.

The virtual world is a weird one, but an amazing one. For every vapid post about what ribbon someone won in Farmville, there’s one by a friend from 30 years ago now in China, or South Africa.

The connections are limitless and the opportunities so deep, as long as one only plays occasionally in the shallow end.

Like Wednesday. The peeps in my Friends queue got hooked on running their first names through urbandictionary.com and seeing the definition.

Elena got to be “Loveliest girl west (and east) of the Housatonic.”

Cheryl was “a person of true beauty.”

Even Paul got to be “small” and “humble.”

So Fish Hack punches in the ol’ given name and out comes “An elongated stain on someone’s underwear.”

Honest.

There was no urban dictionary when Fish Hack hit the streets wailing 45-plus years ago. Apparently, the Donor and Host Organism just guessed right.

That’s all fair and good for Facecrack, but what about Twitter? Fish Hack’s all over that now, too.

Want the occasional tweet or two straight from the Hack’s desk? Follow me at twitter.com/MarkcFreeman.

And I promise: no lunch descriptions. Just info about the outdoor world.
