Water park plans moves pooch park
Attention dog park folks. Here’s some semi-official news that impacts you.
According to a Mail Tribune news brief by reporter Damian Mann, the council approved $300,000 to plan a $13.5 million water park – which will either bring income to the city – or require subsidies – depending upon admission ticket prices.
Either way, the city ’s plans to establish a new waterpark in Medford will oust the Bear Creek dog park (and BMX park) from its current location.
The city states it will reestablish the dog park in another as-yet undisclosed location should the waterpark catch a wave and actually get built.
I’m curious. How many of you are still using the park since the pedestrian bridge just north of Medford’s Barnett Road was closed in July for estimated three months while construction workers build a retaining wall.
Are dog park users doing as asked and using the main Bear Creek Park entrance on Highland Driver?
If/when the Bear Creek dog park goes out, where would you like to see a new dog park go in? What additions would you like? What rule changes, deletions or additions would you like to see implemented?
This reporter’s nose is sniffing the air.
