A par 4 disguised as a 3

Just got home from work and have the Nationwide Tour event in Valdosta, Ga., taped, hoping to see Jason Allred. I don’t think I will, but this one hole got my attention. It’s a par 3, 252 yards! I laughed out loud when the announcer said, “It’s a reachable par 3.” The group I see, one guy used a rescue wood. Couldn’t tell on the others. Oh, the hole has sand much of the way up the left side. I think the longest par 3 I’ve played was at Bend Country Club. They have a downhiller that I think was about 230 or so. The one on TV here isn’t even appreciably downhill. I think I’d be between driver and 4-wood. The latter I’d have to bounce off a sprinkler head three-quarters of the way to the green. No wonder this course at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club is the longest in the history of the tour. It’s 7,781 yards.
