Salem hands Roseburg first loss

The Salem Senators outslugged Roseburg Pepsi, 22-16, in the American Legion A State Tournament Monday at North Medford High. The loss was the first in the double-elimination event for Roseburg, necessitating two games Tuesday to decide the champion. La Grande, which eliminated the North Medford Mavericks, 5-4, earlier Monday, plays Salem at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The winner advances to meet Roseburg for the crown at 2 p.m.
