OSAA-mandated week off is coming up

The Oregon School Activities Association adopted a plan to give kids and coaches a break from high school athletics. That means competition, camps, working out. This moratorium week is Aug. 2-8, and coaches and players are prohibited from having contact. Those summer teams coached by high school coaches – such as American Legion baseball or ASA softball — can continue uninterrupted so long as the coach petitions the OSAA a week before the moratorium week.
